A Journey of Dreams and Love

A Journey of Dreams and Love

In front of the pristine sea waves, under the bright sun, the sand slipped from underneath her feet to tickle her, filling her with delight. She gazed into the wide sky and along the joyful sea, then ran with joy and excitement as if she were a child of four, seeing the sea for the first time.

Although it wasn’t her first time at the sea, this time was entirely different. They came today to celebrate her success. She had obtained good grades in high school, qualifying her to enter the medical college she had always dreamed of

.

She laughed heartily, then dove deeper into the water, driven by the curiosity to see God's creation beneath that blue surface. Sand and shells were all she saw underwater because she was still at the shore, even if the water had reached above her chest.

She sighed in exasperation, but how was it the sea's fault that she was short? Her height had always been a source of others' mockery, and now they would call her the short doctor. She laughed merrily at this possibility and gazed lovingly at the sky.

She sighed with relief and thanked God greatly for the blessings bestowed upon her and that her hard work over the years had not gone in vain, nor her parents' efforts been in vain. The pigeons flew freely, flapping their wings in the air.

The thing she loved most about birds was that they weren’t bound by the doctrines of life. Their freedom was their weapon, and God provided them with food. She looked closely at the birds until she noticed the one lagging behind.

She hurried out of the water when she noticed its imminent fall. She reached out her hand in the air as she approached the spot she guessed it would land. She ran at full speed to catch it before it got hurt, and indeed, she managed to catch it.

She always dreamed of keeping a dove, but her dedication and seriousness in studying distracted her from thinking about pigeons. She headed to an empty chair arranged on the beach, sat on it, then gently placed the bird on her lap.

"This chair is mine, Miss." Startled by the male voice coming from behind, the moment she saw the young man, she jumped up in fear and said, stammering awkwardly: Sorry... I didn't know and... "Its wing is broken...!!"

She looked at him blankly, then said foolishly: Yes. The young man approached, extending his hands to carry the dove and hold it for her. He said, caressing the dove: The poor thing, its wing is broken.

An unprovoked anger flared inside her, so she extended her hand and snatched the dove from him, left him, and walked away without comment. He watched her figure walking away with surprise, then said, puzzled: Why was she angry... Today's girls...!!!

She walked angrily, irritated by him. Why had he yelled at her in the first place, and if the dove could speak, it would say, "When did he yell at you?" She walked with aggravated steps until she reached her family’s tent.

Approaching them, she found her father waving at her and jokingly said: We were going to eat without you... Hurry up before the food runs out. As if she hadn’t heard him, she slowed her steps in boredom till she reached them and sat on her chair.

Her brother grabbed the dove from her hands and then asked: What's with it? She remembered that obnoxious guy saying to her: Its wing is broken. She replied, on the verge of tears: The poor thing almost hit the ground and broke its wing.

He patted her thigh and then said gently: Don’t worry, I have a friend here who works as a vet and will help us by God's will. She looked at him with gratitude, then hung onto his neck playfully.

She started eating with her family in a warm, comforting, and cheerful atmosphere. The meal ended except for a few crumbs and leftovers that remained after eating. The husband held his wife's hand and pulled her to enjoy the seawater a bit.
